In our track program, our shot and discus throwers go through a series of plyometric drills and weights that help them with strength and performance. Plyometrics help with speed and explosion, a big part of the shot and discus success. Our athletes generally work with cleans in the weight room to help further their strength and quickness. Remember, technique, in the throws, is often more important than strength.
