There comes a time in every ones life when things are just not going right. For the athlete it may be that nagging injury that keeps coming back and so you’re never able to perform your best and show people what you really have. Oh how frustrating and yes even unjust!

When this happens I think we need to learn “calm surrender”.

Calm surrender is the process of “letting go” and surrendering with grace and humility the things which can not be changed. It’s a form of acceptance, of being okay with what is, instead of the way you wish things were. It is ending the struggle.

Calm surrender is not about giving up. Nor is it about being apathetic, lazy or not caring. It is about letting go of what can not be changed (and the stress it brings) and then directing your energies to what must be done now and what can be changed! It is about now directing your energies in the right direction and to face what is.

Learn to take life or the moment the way it is and don't waste time commiserating on what you wish it could be. Then use your energies to keep getting after it!

Good luck!
