If you are in condition, is there additional benefit gained, in terms of boosting VO2max, by training more than four times per week, regardless of the duration of exercise?

Research shows four training sessions per week turns out to be the number for improving VO2max in conditioned runners who already have a relatively high maximal oxygen uptake. For example, if you run from 25-35 minutes during each training session, running four times per week doubles the boost in VO2max observed compared with other runners who are running two, three or even five times per week.
