Coach,

I have had a bad season this year and trained efficiently for only 2 months, April and May, and didn't run a race. I stopped training in June and July. I want to run my old records again, which are 23''8 in the 200m and 52"9 in the 400m. I want to start training in September but I need first to prepare myself for regular training to avoid injuries and other health problems.

Can you help me with a plan for August that would prepare me for the fall training?

Thanks

First, start with your warmup routine. Plan on a three day a week program. Avoid being on the track right now. Do everything on a flat grass field. Once you intitiate your warmup program, start with stride work (8-10 x 100m) at sub max speed (60-70% effort). See how this routine goes for the next two to three weeks.

Good luck.
