I am a pentathlete and decathlete and I am concerned about my jumping workouts. They are none existent.
In high school I was a 22-23 foot long jumper, a 45 foot triple jumper, a 6'7 high jumper and went to nationals for the pentathion. I was told that I
have the potential to go 7'0, 24 feet, and 47 feet in all of the jumps, but I do not get work in any of them and all I do at practice is run and pole vault.
I desperately need to do plyometrics boxes and jump at least once a week and work on steps, but I am never able to do so. I know that I need to run, but running 6x500 repeats and just doing block workouts is not going to make me a better jumper. I lift on my own and do power cleans, squats, bench press, calf raises, and dead lifts.
Can you offer any suggestions on what type of workouts I can do on my own so that I will not fall behind? Thank you for your time.
